Website of the month: www.cooloff.org (AHAM) While Knox County's summer temps have been mild thus far, when hotter temperatures arrive and you are considering a new room air conditioner, check out the cooloff.org site. A short survey helps you determine how powerful of a unit you will need, by asking questions about room size, use, windows, and exterior walls. AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) tests and certifies home appliances such as room air conditioners, dehumidifiers and room air cleaners.
